Malzar2

Malzar

Malzar (born EC 777) is a Molazi wizard.

Following the death of his elder brother Nytonis, he has travelled south to Valona in order to retrieve his inheritance, which he shares with his late brother's betrothed companion, Beinedhiel. Part of this inheritance was received in advance, namely an Ormanekai slave, known as Vortepo.

A young spellcaster of prodigious talent, extreme intelligence and questionable morals, he is also very good looking, and often gets his way with the opposite sex.

Adventures[]

Voyeuristic Vampires[]

Following his meeting with Beinedhiel and Vortepo, and his brother's executor, Malzar and the others took a boat from Cymbron to Valona. They were joined at the last minute by Turi , who was immediately detained and questioned. Malzar and Beinedhiel decided to trust him, based on his being a Paladin, however they remained wary. On the route to Valona, the ship ran aground, and Malzar, Beinedhiel, Vortepo and Turi managed to make it to shore, and climb a nearby cliff to safe dry land. However, a Nylor attack forced them to seek shelter, daylight being many hours away, and they headed toward the nearest source of light, which turned out to be a large stone castle built into the cliffs, Castle Tarnis.

The kindly lord of the castle, Lord Tarnis allowed them entry and time to heal their wounds, before revealing himself as a vampire, and sealing the three males in a stone chamber and attempting to coerce Beinedhiel into wearing his deceased grandmother's dress. She managed to escape, and free the others, and together they fled the castle through its catacombs.

It was here that they discovered a small bird, sent as a messenger by a prisoner of the lord's who turned out to be a druid named Kalessin, who the team managed to rescue, only to find no exit through the bowels of the castle. Returning to the main hall, the confronted the vampire lord, slaying him, and in turn obtaining the key to the heavily barred front doors.

Bothersome Beaurocrats[]

Following their escape, the group decided to stick together, given the imminent Nylor threat in the surrounding forest, of which they were all very aware. They headed north, following the coastline to reach Valona. Here, Malzar and Beinedhiel attempted to retrieve Nytonis' stored items, but this proved difficult without the executor present. The vault proved more secure than expected, and in the end, Vortepo had to threaten the owner of the bank for the password to Nytonis' account. Successful at last, the inheritance was revealed, along with a letter from Nytonis, explaining the situation and implying that the lost wizard yet lives, and detailing about his search for the Phrenom. Further to this, what is believed to be a new Paladium, which Nytonis begs them to take to Iphazion, and to Melkon. Deciding to act, the companions go to leave Valona, but are halted by Protectors of Iphazion.
